YouAreMoreThanMom.com is a website community with a vision to create a place for professional, motivated, and career-driven women to come together to find a way to use their knowledge, talents, abilities, and skills learned from the workplace and college and translate those into a way to work from home while being present for their families.
Many women today struggle with the transition of going from working professional to stay-at-home mom.
We are here to tell you that this is very common! When you decided to have children you probably knew that you wanted to stay at home to raise them. However, you found out quick that even though you love your kids with all your heart, you feel the need to continue to use your skills and talents to have something for yourself and still grow personally and professionally. You may even feel a loss of identity because before you had kids your identity was wrapped up in your career. Today your identity consists of cleaning dirty diapers, doing copious amounts of laundry, and making sure to get dinner on the table by 5:30pm daily. No one knows you as accountant, architect, marketing associate, designer, project manager…
People only know you as MOM. There’s nothing wrong with the title of “mom,” but you know that you are “More than only Mom.”
At YouAreMoreThanMom.com we strive to show you that…
(1) You are not defined by your degree. It’s so easy to feel stuck and believe that you can only do what that piece of paper says. Whether you realize it or not, you do have the ability to use your skills and create another area of expertise that you can pursue from home.
(2) Your identity doesn’t have to be defined by your role as mom. Instead, it should be defined by who God says you are (click here to watch 4-part series about your Roles vs. you Identity). It’s okay to feel and say that you are more than Mom.
We hope to give you the tools to show you how you can use your gifts, talents, and passions to continue to do the things you love and translate them into a business that you can do from home so that you can continue to grow professionally and provide an income for your family if that’s what you desire.
